How it works
This calculator follows Canadian mortgage rules, including CMHC/Sagen insurance and stress test requirements. It accounts for CMHC tiered insurance rates, the federal stress test (contract rate + 2% or 5.25%), and provincial Land Transfer Tax estimates.
Insured Mortgages: Required if down payment is less than 20%.
Amortization: Maximum 25 years for insured mortgages, up to 30 years for uninsured (20%+ down) or specific new-build scenarios.
